The PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight is a complete, total, absolute mess. It is an embarrassment to everyone involved. But the true extent of just how terrible it is is still being understood. For instance, today, a reader of DSO Gaming sent them an image, showing the keyboard OSD of MSI’s Afterburner program. The image shows that MSI Aftterburner is not running when Nvidia’s Gameworks are for the game- a troubling discrepancy, since everything seems to run fine with Gameworks off.

In normal people terms, that discovery has led to the realization that the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight switches down to DirectX 10 every time Nvidia Gameworks effects are turned on. If that sounds like satire to you, I wish it was- but it’s true, and it’s hilariously sad.

At this point, it seems that the port is just fundamentally broken. Whereas one should never say never, I do wonder whether it can even be fixed at this stage.
