Call of Duty Black Ops 3

The Director of Development over at Treyarch, Cesar Stastny,  discussed a number of things on Twitter, though they were mainly related to the graphical side of things in regards to the upcoming shooter, Call of Duty Black Ops 3. Black Ops 2 on PC was more or less identical to the console build, the main difference being that the frame rate could go staggeringly high should a rig be powerful enough.

One player told the developer that they could have the game running at over 170fps on average, provided they didn’t use anti-aliasing. They wanted to know could they possible run Black Ops 3 with at least 60fps with maximum settings. The developer stated that the graphical features of the game aren’t completed yet, so at this time there is no proper estimate of what the maximum settings could be. He also said that the required specs for a rig aren’t set in stone yet either.

Speaking with another Twitter user, he confirmed that Black Ops 3 will have a texture upscale slider. Finally, admits that he would love to release a suite of modding tools for Black Ops 3, but he says that it is certainly a big project and that there’s no way of knowing if it could be implemented until further down the line.
