Following its announcement, Capcom has released a developer overview video for Exoprimal. Producer Ichiro Kiyokawa and director Takuro Hiraoka classify it as an online team-based action game with two teams of five players. Check it out below.

The main mode is Dino Survival where players embark on missions using Exosuits. The Exosuits fall into three roles – Assault for damage dealing; Tank for protecting and drawing aggro; and Support which weakens enemies and heals allies. You can change Exosuits during battle though you’ll be vulnerable for a brief period of time.

However, along with slaying hordes upon hordes of dinosaurs, you’re also competing against another team. The first to complete their missions first essentially wins the match, though missions can change depending on your skill and the situations that unfold. The story, which sees dinosaurs mysteriously dropping onto the world via vortexes and causing havoc, will unravel over time though how and in what way remains to be seen.

Exoprimal is targeting a 2023 release for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC along with PS4 and PS5. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
