Final Fantasy 7 Remake May Receive New Information Through Gaming Events This Year

Still lots of "ifs" though.

Since the announcement for Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2015, there’s been a drought of information on the game, with especially little to whet our appetites in 2016, but game director Tetsuya Nomura says that Square Enix will try and release new information on the game during several gaming events this year- if they should have anything to show at those events, that is.

“There are also the annual events,” he said in an interview with Famitsu while talking about his schedule in 2017. “E3 in June, Tokyo Game Show in September, Jump Festa in December—and on top of preparing for the KH concert I’m simultaneously managing things like season two of KHUχ and Dissidia FF, so yes, this year is looking to be fully loaded.

“I didn’t give much information on KH3 or FFVII Remake last year, but I hope I can show you our progress if any events align this year,” he continued. “I apologise that there’s still some time before I can release them, but there are many other titles releasing this year, and so I’d like for you to please wait for your ‘surprise’.”

Last week we reported that Tetsuya Nomura had stated that work on Final Fantasy VII Remake was moving along “solidly”, while also explaining why the development process was taking as long as it was.
