Final Fantasy 7 Remake “Still A Ways To Go” – Producer

Dev team currently brushing up on first trailer's scenes.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake saw an odd lack of information at the 30th anniversary event for the franchise. Aside from some key art featuring Cloud and Sephiroth, there wasn’t really much to look forward to. However, that could change sometime in the future.

Famitsu recently spoke to series brand manager Shinji Hashimoto and said it expected a release date or some other news at the anniversary. Hashimoto responded (translation by Gematsu) that, “Of course, there won’t be zero news. Basically, I still can’t say anything, but there might be something from Kitase.”

That’s Yoshinori Kitase who’s producer on the remake. Unfortunately, speaking to Famitsu separately (translation by Siliconera), Kitase didn’t really offer much by way of things happening soon.

“We’re currently brushing up the scene from the announcement trailer. We can now see the line of quality that we’re aiming for more clearly, but there’s still a ways to go.”

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently in development for PS4 but will also head to PC later.
