Battling bosses in Hi-Fi Rush can be challenging, especially with a low life bar and reverb gauge. Enemies get stronger with every level, and without the right upgrades, you’ll struggle a lot more than usual when it comes to taking them out. Fortunately, you can increase both your reverb gauge and life bar and prepare yourself to face those challenges head on.

How to increase Max Health in Hi-Fi Rush

There are a bunch of ways you can use to increase Chai’s max health, such as:

First, you can purchase a full life bar from the store by speaking to Peppermint at the end of the first stage and unlocking it. The cost is 10,000 gears.

Second, you can obtain the Health Tank, a unique item that costs 50,000 gears. This item stores Chai’s extra energy and can completely refill his life gauge if his health is fully depleted.

Throughout the game, Life Gauges can be found and collected, which will restore Chai’s power core and increase his health when all four are collected

How to increase your Reverb Gauge in Hi-Fi Rush

To defeat bosses on higher difficulties, it’s essential to have a powerful special attack, which can be achieved by increasing your Reverb Gauge. You can either buy it or collect the pieces, as you did with the health bar. Here are the details:

The first option is to purchase upgrades from Peppermint’s store, where you can buy up to three upgrades for prices of 10,000 Gears for the first, 25,000 Gears for the second, and 50,000 Gears for the third upgrade. The second option is to collect Reverb Core Pieces, which can be found throughout the campaign. You can obtain a total of 12 of these pieces, and for every four you collect, you can combine them to increase your Reverb Gauge by one level.
