In a bid to make the PS5 a more accessible gaming system, Sony has seemingly tied up with UK company Raylo to offer PS5 console rentals. Available through the PlayStation Direct UK website, the rental plan has been labelled as Flex, allowing users to lease a PS5 starting at £10.99 per month for the slim Digital Edition console.

There are a range of rental options, with the disc drive version of the slim pS5 coming in at £11.99 per month, a two-controller version of the slim Digital Edition PS5 for £13.49 per month, and a PS5 Pro for £18.95 per month.

The Flex plans are also available for PS5 accessories, including DaulSense controllers and even the PlayStation Portal. A DualSense can be rented out for £7.99 per month, while a PlayStation VR2 is available for £18.49 per month for the regular version, and £19.99 per month for the Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle. The PlayStation Portal is available for £6.49 per month.

According to Sony, those using the Flex program to lease a PS5 or its accessories can pay either monthly, allowing them the flexibility to cancel the rental at any time. There are also options to lease the system and its accessories for long-term periods, between 12, 24 and 36 month options. Choosing one of these brings down the monthly rental price for the systems.

The leased consoles and accessories also include a lifetime warranty.

It is worth noting that even if a user uses one of the long-term subscription options, they will never ultimately own the hardware that they’re leasing. As caught by The Standard, cancelling one of the long-term leasing options after the initial 14 days will also lead to cancellation fees that depends on the length of the lease.

Recently, Sony had also announced a price cut for the PlayStation VR2 headset. From this month onwards, the price of the VR headset has been brought down from its original $549.99 price tag to $399.99. The PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle also has the same price tag.
