In a Direct full of shocking announcements, FromSoftware arguably took the cake with The Duskbloods, a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive launching in 2026. The debut trailer gave serious Bloodborne vibes, while the world design gave us Elden Ring deja vu. In a new press release, the developer has offered details regarding the story and gameplay.
Unlike FromSoftware’s previous titles, The Duskbloods is a PvEvP game with online multiplayer at its “core.” You control one of the Bloodsworn, former humans turned vampire-like beings that engage in a melee for the “First Blood” while the “twilight of humanity” is on the horizon.
Up to eight players compete in a single game, fighting enemies and each other. The Bloodsworn seemingly possess unique kits and abilities akin to Elden Ring Nightreign’s Nightfarers, as seen with a character who has a jetpack.
It’s certainly intriguing, and director Hidetaka Miyazaki will reveal more information on April 4th, so stay tuned. The Duskbloods launches in 2026 for the Switch 2.
